We had a lot of fun making Reindeer Cookies and Christmas decorations this week.
Alyssa@ Paparore School
I am a Year 4 student at Paparore School School in Northland, New Zealand. Whaea Deb is my teacher. My blog is a collection of my work at various stages, across different curriculum areas. Throughout my time at Paparore School I may share draft copies of my work for feedback and feedforward. Other times I will share my final published pieces.

Poetry
WALT respond to different types of poems. We are going to use different poems to help us practice our reading strategies.
Asttle Writing - Narrative Writing
The children write for a total of 40 minutes. Within that timeframe they have to plan their writing (a brainstorm) write, edit and re-craft their work. They are not allowed to use dictionaries or word cards. The students completed their writing on paper but have typed it out for their blogs.

Music with Matua Jade
Every Monday we do music with Matua Jade. I like trying the different instruments and singing into a microphone.
Water - An Amazing Substance
We are using water to help us understand different scientific concepts.
We were doing evaporation experiments, we got a cup of water and tipped it on the ground. Water evaporates in the sun and slower in the shade.

Te Wiki o Te Reo Maori
We had Whaea Seroya last term. We had a lot of fun because every day we had a kupu o te ra like fork - paoka, knife - naihi, spoon - pune, plate - pereti and araia mata - face mask, kapai, pukapuka. My favourite thing that I did my pukapuka. I put Ko wai au? in my pukapuka. That means who are you? I said Remana au. I'm a lemon.
